10TH World Water Forum Brings Environmental Activists a New Hope

The organization of the 10th World Water Forum on  18—25 May 2024 in Bali, has brought a fresh hope for better environmental management.

This was stated by environmental activist and founder of Sea Soldier, Nadine Chandrawinata, through her statement in Jakarta on Friday (3 May).
"Stakeholders involved in this event must discuss so that the agreements reached will be beneficial," she said.

Nadine said that this event is aimed at finding solutions to water issues and sustainable water resource management, which directly impacts environmental management.

Nadine Chandrawinata also believes that in the upcoming 10th World Water Forum, all issues related to water resources can be effectively addressed.
Another environmental activist, Melati Wijsen, who is also the founder of Youthtopia, wants to invite participants to collaborate, exchange ideas, knowledge, and bring strong solutions to water issues.

The overarching theme of the 10th World Water Forum is "Water for Shared Prosperity." This theme aligns with the global commitment to seek solutions for enhancing and managing sustainable water resources to address uncertain climate change.

Meanwhile, Endang Savitri, a Senior Researcher at the Research Center for Ecology and Ethnobiology of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), said that the major theme of world water forum aligns with the global commitment to addressing climate change.

"The government has taken the right steps by involving the community in facing disasters," she said.

The 10th World Water Forum is an inclusive platform where all stakeholders such as heads of state, ministers, parliamentarians, local governments, river basin authorities, academics, practitioners, and young generations gather and collaborate to formulate global water solutions.
