Secure Organization of 10^th World Water Forum Thanks to Synergy

Into its sixth day, the 10^th World Water Forum in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Thursday (23 May), has run safely, smoothly, and without significant obstacles.  The largest global water forum takes place in Nusa Dua, Bali, on 18—25 May 2024.

According to the Head of Public Information Bureau of Indonesian National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, this is due to the synergy between the Government institutions such as the National Police (Polri), Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI), Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres), ministries/institutions, and the Balinese community.

“The current situation is good, conducive, and well-organized,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (22 May).

He went on to say that Polri is carrying out the orders of Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to the Head of Puri Agung 2024 Operation Commissioner General Fadil Imron to secure the World Water Forum so that the event can proceed safely and under control.

The success of this security operation, he added, is due to Polri’s readiness in planning and preparing security measures thoroughly, including risk management in the operations and how to anticipate them.

“The 2024 Puri Agung Operation is an integrated operation that synergizes the Paspampres, TNI, and other stakeholders,” he stated.

He also said that a number of delegates have extended appreciation to the security personnel for their hospitality. The hospitality is implemented from culture in Bali where the community leaders and religious figures play their roles in giving understanding to the people in hospitableness.

 In addition, the Polri also has experience in securing other international agenda taking place in Indonesia, such as the G20 Summit in 2022, the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo and Jakarta in 2023, MotoGP in Mandalika, and some other events.

“This will be the main task and function of Polri to maintain security and order in the society,” he added.

For the record, the Police deployed 5,791 personnel consisting of personnel from the Polri Headquarters, Bali Regional Police, East Java Regional Police, and East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police in the 2024 Puri Agung Operation to secure the 10^th World Water Forum.

The operation is also supported by a Control Post that is responsible for controlling and organizing all security personnel movements to ensure they remain dynamic while on duty.

“The implementation of this synergy indeed leads to a safe and smooth outcome while still reflecting local wisdom. Thus, we also adopt a synergy as our special treatment through control posts where a dynamic coordinator is assigned,” Trunoyudo said. (Laily Rahmawati, Budi Suyanto/TR/Elvira Inda Sari/RA/PR)
