Hotels in Bali Set to Welcome Heads of State, Delegates of the 10th World Water Forum

Ten hotels in Nusa Dua area, Badung Regency, Bali will be the accommodation for VIP and VVIP state guests of the 10th World Water Forum slated to be held on 18–25 May in Bali.

"To date, there are seven hotels for VVIP guests and three hotels for VIP guests and delegates," said the General Manager of PT Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), I Made Agus Dwiatmika, in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, on Wednesday, 8 May.

He continued that all confirmed hotels were improving their facilities and security systems, including X-ray scanners and security check portals.

The Nusa Dua area has a total of around 5,485 rooms spread across 22 five-star hotels and luxury villas and has meeting room facilities capable of accommodating around 21,000 delegates.

In addition to hotels, special meeting room facilities are available at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) and the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), which are the main venues for the 10th World Water Forum.

He added that BICC would be the location for the meeting of heads of state scheduled from 20 to 21 May.

The event will be followed by interface meetings with relevant parties for political, thematic, and regional processes as well as bilateral meetings of several heads of state regarding water issues.

Meanwhile, BNDCC, BICC, and Bali Collection, and Kuta Beach will also be the location for the opening of the Expo and Fair on 20–25 May.

A cultural parade is also scheduled to be held in the Nusa Dua area on 20 May from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Central Indonesian Time (GMT+8).

"The cultural parade will feature various arts and culture attractions that will fascinate delegates and add a local touch to the event," he said.

Meanwhile, ITDC also has a control center or command center which offers modern facilities to ensure security and efficient coordination during the 10th World Water Forum.

The facility is equipped with integrated surveillance cameras (CCTV), television monitors, integrated radio communications, and information systems linked to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) systems in the form of early warning systems for tsunamis, earthquakes, and extreme weather.

In addition, the ITDC security unit, which is strengthened with a security system, will deploy K9 police dogs, fire-fighting units, and area patrols.

“Through cooperation and innovation, we hope to make a positive contribution to the future of the earth,” he added. (Dewa Ketut Sudiarta, Biqwanto /TR/Elvira Inda Sari/ug/Flo)
