Indonesian President to Chair 10th World Water Forum High-Level Meeting

The third day of the world's largest water forum, the 10th World Water Forum, Monday (20 May), will open with a head-of-state level meeting at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Nusa Dua.

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, will first greet the heads of state/heads of government arriving at the venue from around 08.30 local time before commencing the Opening Ceremony at Mangupura Hall of the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) at 08.55 local time (GMT+8).

As scheduled,  the next activity on the agenda for President Jokowi is chairing the High-Level Meeting on global water and sanitation issues at BICC's Nusantara Hall at 09.45 local time.

The world leaders attending the High-Level Meeting (HLM) include the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda, President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Fiji Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, and Deputy Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea John Rosso.

The meeting will also be attended by World Water Council (WWC) President Loïc Fauchon, United Nations (UN) General Assembly President Dennis Francis, former Hungarian President Janos Ader, French special envoy Barbara Pompili, and Dutch special envoy Meike van Ginneken.

Next on the schedule, the 10th World Water Forum fair & expo will be opened at around 1.00 pm local time, followed by the Parliamentary Meeting at 1.50 pm at rooms Pecatu 3 and 5, Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC). Puan Maharani will attend this meeting as Representative of the President of the  Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Following these meetings, the heads of state, delegates, and participants of the World Water Forum will visit the mangrove forest of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Forest Park (Tahura) at 3.30 local time.

The third day will close with a Cultural Parade at the Bali Collection at 4.30 WITA.

Previously, at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park, Bali, on Sunday (19 May), the leaders and delegates of the 10th World Water Forum were treated to a welcoming dinner. At this event, the atmosphere was charged with the traditional nuances of Indonesian culture, starting from the attire worn by the heads of state and the invitations, the music, the dance performances, and the dinner menu.
