Indonesian National Police Deploys Electric Vehicles for 10th World Water Forum Security

The National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) will deploy 231 units of electric operational vehicles, including both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, for security operations during the 10th World Water Forum in Bali on 18--25 May 2024.

 

"Yes, we use electric vehicles as operational vehicles for escort and security purposes," said the National Police Traffic Corps’ Director of Law Enforcement Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso in Jakarta, on Friday, 3 May 2024.

 

Previously, the National Police also used electric vehicles as operational vehicles during escort for delegation and security operations of the G-20 Summit in November 2022.

 

Slamet, who also serves as Head of the Task Force for Escort and Traffic Route and Vehicle Parking Arrangement of the 10th World Water Forum detailed the number of electric vehicles, namely 64 motorcycles and 45 cars for VVIP escorts.

 

For VIP guest escort, we have prepared 68 units of motorcycles and 50 units of cars.

 

"In addition, there are 2 units of mobile command (kommob) vehicles and 1 traffic accident analysis (TAA) vehicle unit," he said.

 

He explained that the mobile command vehicles would be deployed during the arrangements for escort, route, and parking security.

 

Furthermore, the National Police Traffic Corps will also deploy traffic personnel from the National Police Headquarters, Bali Regional Police, and other closest regional police such as East Java Regional Police and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police.

 

The National Police Traffic Corps will also dispatch 2,446 joint personnel, consisting of 906 from the Bali Regional Police’s Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas), National Police Traffic Corps, and 1,532 personnel from the Nusantara Traffic Directorate.

 

"All of this is for the security, safety, and smooth traffic during the 10th World Water Forum to boost Indonesia's positive image in the international stage," he said.

 

The National Police Traffic Corps escort is also part of the 10 day Puri Agung 2024 Operation conducted by the National Police, to take place from 17—26 May 2024.

 

 

 

Indonesian Navy to Station 7 Ships in Bali

 

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) will also put on standby 7 warships (KRI) and 2 helicopters in Bali.

 

Head of the Navy Information Office First Admiral I Made Wira Hady Arsanta stated that the warships and other primary weaponry defense system from the Indonesian Navy would be on standby in Bali or on position from 13 May 2024.

 

The seven ships will comprise two frigates, one corvette, one hospital ship (BRS), and three fast patrol ships.

 

All ships, that find their base within the military region of the Navy Fleet Command (Koarmada) II, include KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata-331, KRI Ahmad Yani-351, KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366, KRI Layang-635, KRI Tongkol-813, KRI Marlin-877, and KRI dr. Soeharso-990.

 

"We will also deploy two helicopters, seariders, and LCVP (landing craft vehicle personnel/amphibious landing craft)," Arsanta revealed.

 

He further noted that the Navy would also dispatch a total of 1,060 personnel to ensure security during the entire series of the event.

 

There are more than 12 thousand personnel from three forces of the Indonesian Military (TNI) who will be tasked with not only ensuring security but also guarding state guests, and taking anticipatory measures against potential natural disasters.
