Balinese People Fully Support 10th World Water Forum

The 10th World Water Forum in Bali continues to get support from many elements of society. Among these is the Indonesian Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB).

The General Chairperson of the Indonesian FKUB, Ida Pangelingsir Agung Putra Sulahet, considers the forum, slated to be held from 18 to 25 May 2024, an honor for the Island of the Gods. He also stated that Indonesia is well regarded as a reliable host of international events.

"We rely on tourism. The success of national and international events makes Bali increasingly known and loved as a tourism destination," stated Ida Pangelingsir on Friday, 10 May 2024, in Denpasar, Bali.

For this reason, as a Bendesa Agung, Ida is no longer asking; instead, he is imploring that the locals and people of other parts of Indonesia visiting the Island of the Gods support the success of the 10th World Water Forum.

“We must contribute to the success, smoothness, security, and harmony of the World Water Forum event for the sake of the nation, the country, Bali, and for all of us,” he said.

He also stressed that the Balinese people should always maintain harmony. This allows for the fulfillment of public order and security throughout the event.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Pecalang/Traditional Village Security Assistance (Bakamda) in Bali Province, I Komang Gede Agung Setiawan, stated that his party would deploy Pecalang to assist the Indonesian Military and Police in maintaining security and order.

We strongly support and wish for the success of this event. As Pecalang Bali, we are fully prepared to provide security, he stated.

As a Balinese, he expressed his pride that Bali has once again become a destination for national and international events. According to him, this will have impact on Bali's economy.

Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, head of the Public Information Bureau within the Public Relations Division of the National Police, also expressed gratitude for the support provided by religious, community, and traditional leaders in Bali.

He said this support will help the 10th World Water Forum run smoothly, securely, and safely.

This is part of the public trust, as well as hope for the international community's trust in Indonesia,” he stated. (Humas Polri/ TR/Elvira Inda Sari/SC/PR)
