Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI) Provides Media Center  at 10th World Water Forum

The Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI) is establishing a Media Center with a work station and several facilities to support national and international journalists covering the 10th World Water Forum in Bali.

The Media Center is located at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center 2 (BNDCC 2) in Nusa Dua, Bali, and will operate on 18-- 24 May 2024 from 08.00 a.m. to 07.00 p.m. Central Indonesian Time (GMT+8).

This was stated by the Director General of Public Information and Communications (IKP) of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI), Usman Kansong, on Wednesday, 15 May 2024,  in Jakarta.

Usman said journalist is one of the elements that play an active role in supporting the success of 10th World Water Forum. The large number of journalists from both local and foreign media, who have registered to cover the event, certainly require adequate supporting facilities.

Therefore, a number of facilities are prepared for journalists to help them acquire information on each important agenda during the organization of the world's largest water forum.

"This service is an effort to to facilitate local and foreign journalists to cover the 10th World Water Forum," said Usman.

The Media Center will provide press releases in two languages, Indonesian and English. In addition, it will also provide supporting informational content such as photos, infographics, short videos, and bulletins.

“We have prepared a media host, consisting of photographers and videographers, to cater for the needs for photos and broadcasts. The materials from the media host can be accessed for free. This is all part of our services to prepare news material for fellow journalists," explained Usman.

The media center has a works station with a capacity of 284 seats located at Tanjung Benoa Hall, 1st floor of BNDCC 2. It is also equipped with internet access with a speed of 100Mbps, 40 units of LAN cables on the working area desk with bandwidth of 1Gbps capacity, and 20 units of PCs/laptops.

 

Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI) Provides Shuttle Buses

Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI) will provide shuttle services to ferry the journalists from their lodgings to the media center and to facilitate the movement of journalists covering the forum. The shuttle buses will operate a round trip in several routes and serve a number of drop off and pick up points. These routes include:

The 10th World Water Forum will be held in Bali on 1825 May 2024, focusing on four areas: water conservation, clean water and sanitation, food and energy security, as well as mitigation of natural disasters.

A total of 244 sessions in the forum are expected to provide concrete results regarding the mainstreaming of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) on Small Islands, the establishment of a center of excellence or best practices for water and climate resilience or the Center of Excellence on Water and Climate Resilience (COE), as well as the establishment of World Lakes Day.
