Indonesia Prepares Welcoming Dinner for 10th World Water Forum Guests

Resuming the series of events for the 10th World Water Forum that began on Saturday, 18 May, heads of state and delegates will be hosted at a welcoming dinner at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park on Sunday, 19 May.

The dinner activities will start from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time (GMT+8) and will be attended by approximately 2,300 participants, including 500 Very Very Important Person (VVIP) invitees and 1,800 other invitees.

Several heads of state have arrived in Bali, including Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Qohir Rasulzoda; President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe; and President of Fiji, Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere. In addition, Deputy Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, John Rosso, has also arrived in the Island of the Gods. Meanwhile, former President of Hungary, Janos Ader, is also present as a special invitee. Prime Minister of Morocco, Aziz Akhannouch, has confirmed his attendance but has not yet arrived in Bali.

The President of the United Nations General Assembly, Dennis Francis, and the President of the World Water Council, Loïc Fauchon, have also arrived and are scheduled to attend the dinner.

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, will personally welcome the attending heads of state at 7:30 PM local time (GMT+8).

Among the other guests, there are 17 ministers and minister-level officials, including from Australia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Congo, Egypt, France, Kenya, Palestine, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan.

In addition, delegations from Brazil, The Gambia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Mozambique, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Palau, Qatar, the Solomon Islands, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Slovakia, Thailand, Turkey, and Vanuatu also plan to attend.

Representatives from international organizations such as the European Union, World Bank, Inter-Parliamentary Union (represented by the Indonesian Parliament), and the Secretary-General of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) will also be in attendance.

As host, Indonesia will serve traditional Indonesian cuisines. The welcoming performances that have been prepared will be in line with the theme of the World Water Forum "I believe all preparations have been thorough and great" said Director of Government Relations and Permit at Alam Sutera Group, the manager of the GWK Cultural Park, on Sunday, 20 May.
