Indonesia’s Hospitality Impresses 10th World Water Forum Delegates
Participants and delegates of the 10th World Water Forum were immensely impressed by the organization of the event taking place in Nusa Dua, Bali. They were enchanted by the hospitality of Indonesian people, particularly the Balinese community, as well as its cultural and natural beauty.
One of the delegates from Spain, Maria Peix Batet, admitted that she is delighted to be a part of the 10th World Water Forum. She said that Bali is a beautiful place and the hospitality of the Indonesian people is renowned worldwide.
“I am excited to be here in Bali. I think Indonesia is a friendly country with friendly people,” Maria said at the Fair and Expo area of the 10th World Water Forum, on Tuesday, 21 May.
She added that she is proud to be involved in this international water forum with thousands of other people from all over the world. The 10th World Water Forum is believed to be able to bring positive impacts to the sustainability of global water resources.
In the meantime, Rabi Mohtar, a delegate and researcher from the United States, expressed his enthusiasm to learn more about Balinese culture and at the same time participate in the 10th World Water Forum. He was also impressed with the Segara Kerthi (water purification) ritual that marked the commencement of the series of the 10th World Water Forum’s activities.
“The ritual was extraordinary and attended by many people. I am glad to be part of it,” he said.
Echoing similar sentiments, Annelies Nertens, a UNESCO delegate, said that she intentionally arrived in Bali a week prior to the event to stay longer and fully enjoy the region.
“I intentionally arrived several days ahead of the event to fully enjoy Bali, not only sit inside the conference room. I surfed, hiked, and saw paddy fields. It was such an amazing experience,” she said.
Not just travelling, she also bought bracelets as souvenirs. “Unfortunately, I have to return to my country on Saturday after the forum concluded. One day, I will certainly be coming back to Bali for holiday” she added. (Ni Komang Erviani/Ayu Sulistyowati/RaFirda Puri/TR/Elvira Inda Sari/RA/MB)
