10th World Water Forum Delegates Begin to Arrive in Bali

The 10th World Water Forum delegates began arriving via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. This was informed by Head of Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Pramella Yunidar Pasaribu, on Friday, 17 May 2024 in Denpasar, Bali. "We have prepared three immigration checkpoint counters," she said.

Several delegates started arriving on Wednesday, 15 May 2024, and it is predicted that more delegates will arrive ahead of the 10th World Water Forum on 18 May 2024.

Her office estimated that around 9,477 delegates from 104 countries are scheduled to attend the world's largest water forum which will be held in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali.

To ensure the smooth flow of arrival of delegates and regular passengers at the immigration gate, the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights established a separated lane for delegates while continue providing service to regular passengers that are also considerably large in number.

For the three immigration counters, 12 immigration personnel are deployed, with four immigration officers serving each counter.

Meanwhile, for regular passengers, 30 autogate units or automatic immigration document checkpoint facilities have been prepared for checking immigration documents, and 10 checkpoint counters with 40 immigration personnel deployed.

Pramella explained that the immigration checking mechanism for delegates are carried out differently depending on their level. The immigration checking for heads of state level (VVIP) are conducted at the VVIP Building, while for ministerial level are done at the VIP building. Meanwhile, immigration checking for other delegations are done at the international arrival terminal.

On the other hand, Ngurah Rai Immigration also installed signboards at a number of strategic points to help delegates find directions to the checkpoint counter easily. Moreover, the office also conducted trainings for immigration officers in serving international delegations.

Previously, Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing who also serves as Chief Operating Officer of the 10th World Water Forum’s National Organizing Committee said that seven heads of state are scheduled to attend the forum, namely Timor-Leste, Fiji, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Hungary, Morocco, and Indonesia as host country. Meanwhile, the host country is still awaiting confirmation of attendance from one head of state.

Apart from that, three deputy prime ministers, namely of Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Slokavia, and three special envoys from the Netherlands, France and the United Arab Emirates will also attend the meeting.

A total of 105 ministers are also scheduled to attend the World Water Forum from 132 countries and international organizations (Dewa Ketut Sudiarta, Tasrif Tarmizi/TR/Elvira Inda Sari/ug/PR)
