KBRN, Jakarta: The Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI) will prepare a Media Center for thousands of journalists covering the 10th World Water Forum. The media center will be at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Nusa Dua, Bali Province.

“The Media Center for the 2024 World Water Forum at BNDCC has a capacity of 1,000 journalists. There will be a registration period of approximately one month for journalists, open from April 2024 until a week before the event,” said the Director General of Public Information and Communication, Usman Kansong, in Jakarta, on Tuesday (26 March 2024).

Usman stated that the media center will accommodate both national and international journalists. Journalists can register after receiving invitations from the 10th World Water Forum organizing committee.

“The Media will need to register. Once they receive the invitation, they can obtain accreditation,” Usman said.

He explained that the media center will have various facilities to support journalists' work. These facilities include fast internet access and Wi-Fi provided by the national cellular telecommunication service providers.

He mentioned that providing telecommunication infrastructure facilities for journalists, participants, or delegates of the World Water Forum will not be a significant challenge. This is because BNDCC has plenty of experience hosting international events.

“The telecommunication operators will be the internet providers for the 10th World Water Forum, and we (MCI) will consolidate them. The infrastructure in Bali is already solid,” he said.

According to data from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), up to 15,000 people are predicted to attend this international forum. Participants include country delegations, universities, and civil society organizations (CSOs).

“So, the PUPR Ministry estimated the 10th World Water Forum to be attended by 15,000 people. 7,000 of them are delegates, who will also bring expertise and solutions to address water issues worldwide,” he said.

“There are 44 invited heads of state. However, there are representatives from 158 countries at the ministerial level," he said.
